Fall Detection for Elderly Halifax Residents — No Camera, No Wearable.

mmWave radar monitors posture and movement without footage, recordings or any required wearable. When a fall is detected, designated family contacts are alerted instantly. Installed in Halifax homes so elderly family members can stay where they belong — at home.

Your Parent's Safety. Their Privacy. Both at the Same Time.

A camera in a bathroom is unacceptable. A wearable that needs charging and remembering is unreliable. Our fall detection system uses radar — invisible, silent, passive. It does not record anything. It simply knows when someone has gone from upright to floor-level and stayed there. In that moment, your phone rings. Not tomorrow when you call to check in. Eight seconds after it happens.

Fall Detection for Elderly Family Members in Halifax — No Camera Required.

mmWave radar monitors posture and movement without recording footage or requiring a wearable. When a fall is detected, designated family members are alerted instantly. Installed across Halifax and HRM.

No camera in the
bedroom or bathroom.

A camera in a private space is unacceptable. mmWave radar detects position and posture without producing any image or recording. Your family member's privacy stays completely intact.

No wearable to
forget or charge.

Wearables only work if worn. Our radar-based system works automatically the moment the sensor is installed — no device to charge, no button to press, no wearable to forget.

Detects falls and
alerts family instantly.

When a sudden drop to floor level is followed by no movement for a configurable period, designated contacts receive a phone notification immediately — at any hour.

Extended stillness
alerts.

If your parent has not moved from their bedroom in an unusually long time, the system sends a wellness check alert. Configurable thresholds to match their normal daily patterns.

Prolonged coughing
detection.

Sound analysis detects coughing lasting longer than a set threshold — a wellness signal that may indicate a health change requiring attention.

Works alongside
existing care.

Our system supplements — not replaces — existing care arrangements. It gives family members real-time visibility without moving their relative out of their own home.

Setting Up Fall Detection in a Halifax Home

Installed discreetly, configured carefully, tested thoroughly.

Home Visit & Assessment

We visit the home, identify the highest-risk rooms — typically bedroom, bathroom and kitchen — and recommend sensor placement.

Discreet Mounting

Sensors are mounted at the wall or ceiling. They are small, unobtrusive and do not look like medical devices.

Threshold Configuration

We configure fall detection sensitivity, stillness alert timing and coughing detection thresholds based on your family member's normal routine.

Contact Setup

We designate alert recipients — family members, caregivers or both — and confirm each contact receives a test notification before we leave.

Live Testing

We verify the system detects real-world scenarios before handover. You see a fall detection trigger and the resulting alert before we consider the installation complete.

Ongoing Monitoring Review

We check in at 30 days to confirm thresholds are correctly calibrated and adjust any settings that are generating false alerts.

Common Questions About Fall Detection

Does it work if my parent is wearing thick clothing or a blanket?

Yes. mmWave radar penetrates light materials including clothing and bedding. It detects the person beneath, not the surface clothing.

How quickly does the alert arrive after a fall?

The default delay is 60 seconds after the fall position is detected — enough time to confirm it is a real fall and not someone choosing to sit on the floor. This delay is configurable.

What if my parent trips but gets back up quickly?

If they recover and stand within the detection window, no alert is sent. The system alerts only when floor-level position is sustained beyond the configured threshold.

Can my parent turn off the sensor?

The sensor has no on/off switch — by design. It is not a button they need to press. You can disable alerts remotely through the app if needed.

Does it record audio or video?

No. mmWave radar produces no recording of any kind. It detects position and movement only — no audio, no image, no video. It is the most privacy-preserving monitoring technology available.

System Details & Pricing

How much does fall detection installation cost in Halifax?

A single-room fall detection system installed runs $400–$650. Multi-room coverage (bedroom + bathroom) runs $700–$1,100. We provide itemized quotes after the free assessment.

What devices do you install?

We install the Aqara FP400 and ALLIE by Arqaios systems — both specifically designed for fall detection and presence monitoring in residential settings.

Is this a substitute for a medical alert button?

It is a complement. Our system works automatically without any action required by your family member. A medical alert button requires them to press it — which may not be possible after a fall.

Can it cover a whole house?

A sensor covers one room (up to 10m x 8m). A whole-house setup uses one sensor per key room. We design coverage based on where your family member spends most of their time.

Is there an ongoing subscription?

No. The system functions fully without any subscription. Annual maintenance contracts are available for ongoing support and firmware updates.
