Why People Use It
Protection shouldn’t come with a 5-year contract.
Own it outright.
No multi-year agreement and no monthly fee just to keep your own alarm working.
Know the moment a door opens.
A door, window or motion sensor triggers the siren and an alert on your phone within seconds.
Arms itself.
The alarm sets when the last person leaves and disarms when you come home — no code to forget.
How It Works
Your alarm runs at home, not on someone else’s server.
Home Alarm
● Armed · Away
Every exterior door, ground-floor windows and the main hallway.
Arming, disarming and the siren are handled on-site, in under a second.
A phone notification to you and anyone you choose, with the sensor that tripped.

- Controller: a small local computer running Home Assistant, with a Zigbee radio for the wireless sensors and siren.
- Sensors: battery-powered door, window and motion sensors; batteries typically last a year or more.
- Siren: an indoor Zigbee siren triggered by the controller.
- Arming: by app, keypad, schedule, or automatically when everyone’s phone leaves home.
- Monitoring: self-monitored: alerts go to you and the people you choose. Professional monitoring is not included.
- App: today, arming and alerts use the Home Assistant mobile app. The IoTiq app is in early access and is not required.

Know What You’re Getting
Clear about what it does — and what it doesn’t.
Your exact configuration, in writing
Before you order, your quote lists every device, its quantity, where it goes and which features it supports.
Manufacturer-backed hardware
Every device carries its manufacturer’s warranty. We tell you the warranty length for each one in your quote.
Self-monitored, not a call centre
Alerts go to you and the people you choose. IoTiq does not provide professional monitoring and does not dispatch police or emergency services.

Four questions to think about before you order
Not sure? That’s fine — we check them with you during the free assessment.
How many exterior doors and ground-floor windows? Each entry point you want covered needs its own sensor.
Do you have pets?Motion sensors are placed and tuned so pets don’t set off the alarm.
Who should get alerts? You, family, a neighbour — each on their own phone.
Does your insurer ask for monitoring? Some discounts require professional monitoring, which this system does not include. Check before ordering.
Privacy & data handling
Sensor events, arming history and alerts are stored on the controller in your home, not on an IoTiq server. Automatic arming uses your phone’s location only to tell the controller whether you are home; it is not shared with IoTiq. Alerts to your phone use the internet. How IoTiq handles data →
FAQ
Questions about a no-contract alarm.
Is this professionally monitored?+−
No. It is self-monitored: alerts go to you and the people you choose. IoTiq does not dispatch police or emergency services.
Will this lower my home insurance?+−
Some insurers discount alarm systems, but many require professional monitoring and a monitoring certificate, which this system does not include. Ask your insurer before ordering.
What happens if the internet or power goes out?+−
The standard setup stops alerting your phone without internet, and stops entirely without power. The full outage protection option adds battery and cellular backup.
Will my pets set it off?+−
Motion sensors are placed and tuned for pets during setup. Door and window sensors aren’t affected by pets.
Can I switch from a contract alarm company?+−
Yes, once your contract allows it. Existing wired sensors usually can’t be reused, but we assess them first.
Is there a monthly fee?+−
No. The only optional ongoing costs are a cellular data plan if you add cellular backup, and an optional support plan.
