Server Room Monitoring
Know before the server room overheats.
Temperature, humidity, water and door monitoring for your server room or network closet — so a failed air conditioner or a ceiling leak is an alert, not an outage.

Why Businesses Use It
Equipment fails quietly — usually after hours.
Before it overheats.
An alert the moment the room temperature climbs, before equipment throttles or shuts down.
Water where it hurts most.
A sensor under the rack catches water from the ceiling, a pipe or the AC drain.
Who opened the door.
Every door opening is logged, so you know who was in the room and when.
How It Works
Watched in the room, escalated to the right person.
Server Room
● All normal
Temperature at the rack, humidity, water on the floor and the door.
Each reading has its own limit and delay, decided on-site.
Alerts go to IT, then escalate to a manager if nobody acknowledges.

- Sensors: battery-powered Zigbee temperature, humidity, water and door sensors — no wiring into your equipment.
- Controller: a small local computer running Home Assistant on its own network segment, separate from your business data.
- UPS monitoring: optional: a network UPS reports when the room is on battery and how long is left.
- Access: optional: a smart lock with personal codes and an entry log.
- Alerts: push notifications with escalation; SMS escalation is optional.
- App: today, alerts use the Home Assistant mobile app. The IoTiq app is in early access and is not required.

Know What You’re Getting
Clear about what it does — and what it doesn’t.
Your exact configuration, in writing
Before you order, your quote lists every device, its quantity, where it goes and which features it supports.
Manufacturer-backed hardware
Every device carries its manufacturer’s warranty. We tell you the warranty length for each one in your quote.
Monitoring, not IT support
It tells you when the room’s environment goes wrong. It doesn’t monitor your servers’ software or fix equipment.
Setup
From your first question to a working system.
Tell us about the room. Size, cooling, UPS, who has access and who should get alerts.
Receive your configuration. Sensor positions, limits, escalation and total cost — in writing.
Install and connect. Sensors placed, the controller set up on its own network segment.
Test every alert. We warm a sensor, wet the water sensor and open the door to confirm each alert.
30-day follow-up. We review readings and adjust limits to your room’s normal range.
Four questions to think about before you order
Not sure? That’s fine — we check them with you during the free assessment.
How is the room cooled?A dedicated AC, building HVAC or just a vent — it decides the limits.
Is there a UPS?Putting the controller on it keeps monitoring alive during power cuts.
Who should get alerts, and in what order?IT first, then a manager, for example.
Can we use a separate network segment?Recommended, so monitoring is isolated from business data.
Privacy & data handling
Sensor readings and door events are stored on the controller in your building, not on an IoTiq server. The controller runs on its own network segment and does not access your servers or business data. Alerts reach your phones over the internet. How IoTiq handles data →
FAQ
Questions about server room monitoring.
Does it need access to our network or servers?+−
No. It only needs an internet connection for alerts, and we recommend a separate network segment.
What temperature should trigger an alert?+−
Many small server rooms alert at around 27–30 °C at the rack intake. We set limits from your room’s normal range.
Can it monitor multiple closets?+−
Yes. Additional rooms are added on the same controller.
Does it work during a power cut?+−
Yes, if the controller and your router are on your UPS.
Is there a monthly fee?+−
No mandatory fee. SMS escalation is optional.
Can it tell us who opened the door?+−
The door sensor logs when it opened. Add the access lock to log who opened it.
