- Camera: an indoor Wi-Fi camera with night vision and two-way audio, recording to its own memory card.
- Air monitor: a room monitor for temperature, humidity, CO₂ and fine particles, with its own app and display.
- Night light: a plug-in smart light on a schedule, dim enough not to wake anyone.
- Cry detection: optional: a local AI processor running open-source audio recognition and Home Assistant sends an alert when crying is heard, without recording audio.
- Apps: the camera and air monitor use their own apps today; with cry detection, everything appears in Home Assistant. The IoTiq app is in early access and is not required.

Privacy & data handling
Video is recorded to the camera’s own memory card in your home, not uploaded to an IoTiq server. Viewing from your phone uses the camera maker’s connection service. Room readings are stored by the air monitor and its app. With cry detection, audio is analysed on-site and discarded; no audio is recorded. FAQ
Questions parents ask about nursery monitoring.
Does it monitor breathing?+−
No. It shows video and room conditions only. It is not a medical breathing monitor.
Is the video accessible from outside the home?+−
Yes, through the camera maker’s encrypted connection to your phone. Recordings themselves stay on the camera’s memory card.
Can grandparents get access?+−
Yes. You can share view-only access with family or a caregiver.
Is there a monthly fee?+−
No. Video, room readings and alerts work without a subscription.
What CO₂ level is too high?+−
Fresh outdoor air is around 400 ppm. Readings above about 1,000 ppm usually mean the room needs more fresh air; you choose the alert level.
Can it alert me when the baby cries?+−
Yes, with the cry detection option, which recognises crying on-site without recording audio.
