Why Families Use It
Pendants stay in the drawer. Cameras don’t belong in a bathroom.
Nothing to remember.
No pendant to wear or charge. Radar sensors work whether your parent remembers anything or not.
Private by design.
Radar senses posture and movement without producing any image, so it’s suitable for bathrooms and bedrooms.
The right people, right away.
When a fall is detected, the family members or caregivers you choose get an alert on their phones.
How It Works
Detected in the room, sent to the people who care.
Mom’s Home
● All quiet · 2 rooms monitored
The sensor senses whether someone is standing, sitting or on the floor — without any image.
If someone gets up within the delay you set, no alert is sent.
If they stay on the floor, your chosen contacts get an alert at any hour.
View technical architecture
- Sensors: mmWave radar presence sensors with fall detection, mounted on a wall or ceiling and powered from an outlet.
- Privacy: radar produces no images and no audio — only position, posture and movement.
- Controller: a small local computer running Home Assistant that turns sensor events into alerts and checks.
- Alert delay: configurable, typically about a minute, so someone sitting on the floor on purpose doesn’t trigger an alert.
- Alerts: push notifications to the contacts you choose; not connected to 911 or a monitoring centre.
- App: today, alerts use the Home Assistant mobile app. The IoTiq app is in early access and is not required.

Four questions to think about before you order
Not sure? That’s fine — we check them with you during the free assessment.
Which rooms carry the most risk?Usually the bedroom and bathroom; sometimes stairs or the kitchen.
Is there an outlet near each sensor spot?Sensors are mains-powered; we plan placement around outlets.
Who will respond to an alert?Family nearby, a neighbour or a caregiver — someone who can get there.
Does your parent agree? We explain how radar works, so they know there’s no camera.
Privacy & data handling
Radar sensors produce no images and no audio. They detect position, posture and movement only. Events and alerts are processed on the controller in the home; alerts reach family phones over the internet. We recommend explaining the sensors to the person being monitored before installation. FAQ
Questions families ask about fall detection.
Is this a medical device or a monitored service?+−
No. It is a home safety system that alerts the contacts you choose. It is not a medical device and is not monitored by a 24/7 call centre.
Does it work through clothing or a blanket?+−
Yes. Radar passes through clothing and bedding.
What if a fall is missed?+−
No sensor catches every situation, and rooms without sensors aren’t covered. We test each room during setup and recommend an emergency button as a second way to call for help.
What if they sit on the floor on purpose?+−
A configurable delay means no alert is sent if they get up within that time.
Will they feel watched?+−
There is no camera and no microphone recording. Many people forget the sensors are there.
Does it work if the internet goes down?+−
Detection continues, but alerts can’t leave the house without internet. Cellular backup solves this.
