Why People Use It
Sealed Canadian homes are warm. They’re not always fresh.
Stale air you can’t see.
CO₂ builds up in closed bedrooms and offices overnight and through the workday. You feel it as tiredness, not as a smell.
Ventilation that reacts.
When CO₂ or VOCs pass your limit, the HRV or bathroom fan switches on — and back off when the air is fresh.
Patterns, not snapshots.
See which rooms and times of day consistently get worse, so you fix the cause.
How It Works
Measured in each room, ventilated automatically.
Home Air
● Good · 3 rooms
CO₂, VOCs, fine particles, temperature and humidity — every minute.
Your limits for each room, with a short delay so a quick spike doesn’t trigger anything.
The HRV or fan switches on, and you can see when and why in the weekly report.

- Sensors: local air quality sensors measuring CO₂, VOC, PM2.5, temperature and humidity; powered by USB.
- Controller: a small local computer running Home Assistant that stores readings and runs ventilation rules on-site.
- Ventilation control: a dry-contact relay for compatible HRVs or bathroom fans; mains wiring is done by a licensed electrician.
- Data: readings stay on the controller in your home; nothing is sent to an IoTiq server.
- Report: a weekly summary of peaks, averages and ventilation events per room.
- App: today, readings and alerts use the Home Assistant mobile app. The IoTiq app is in early access and is not required.

Know What You’re Getting
Clear about what it does — and what it doesn’t.
Your exact configuration, in writing
Before you order, your quote lists every device, its quantity, where it goes and which features it supports.
Manufacturer-backed hardware
Every device carries its manufacturer’s warranty. We tell you the warranty length for each one in your quote.
Readings, not a diagnosis
It shows patterns in the air and helps ventilate. It doesn’t diagnose health causes — talk to a doctor about symptoms.
Setup
From your first question to a working system.
Tell us about your home. Rooms you care about, HRV or fans, and any concerns.
Receive your configuration. Sensor positions, limits, ventilation control and total cost — in writing.
Install and connect. Sensors placed at breathing height; the relay connected to your HRV or fan.
Test ventilation. We raise a reading and confirm the HRV or fan responds.
30-day follow-up. We review the first month of readings with you and adjust limits.
Four questions to think about before you order
Not sure? That’s fine — we check them with you during the free assessment.
Which rooms matter most?Bedrooms, a nursery, a home office or a basement.
Do you have an HRV or ERV?Many can be switched to boost; we check the model.
Is there a USB outlet near each spot?Sensors are USB-powered; we plan around outlets.
What prompted the question?Stuffiness, allergies, condensation or curiosity — it shapes the limits.
Privacy & data handling
Air quality readings are stored on the controller in your home, not on an IoTiq server. Alerts and weekly reports reach you over the internet. No cameras or microphones are involved. How IoTiq handles data →
FAQ
Questions about indoor air quality.
Does it work with my HRV?+−
Many HRVs and bathroom fans can be switched with a compatible relay. We confirm your model during the assessment.
Does it measure radon?+−
No. Radon needs a dedicated sensor — see the Radon Monitoring System.
Can it identify the cause of symptoms?+−
No. It shows patterns in the air; a doctor diagnoses health causes.
What CO₂ level is too high?+−
Fresh outdoor air is around 400 ppm. Many people notice stuffiness above about 1,000 ppm. You choose the limits.
Will cooking set it off?+−
Cooking raises particles briefly. A short delay prevents alerts for quick spikes, and the kitchen can have its own limits.
Is there a monthly fee?+−
No. Readings, ventilation control and reports work without a subscription.
