Why People Use It
The door rings when you’re not there.
Alerts for people, not traffic.
Person detection ignores cars, snow and shadows, so your phone only buzzes when someone is actually there.
Know when a package arrives — and leaves.
Get an alert when a box is dropped off, and another if it’s picked up.
Answer from anywhere.
Talk to a courier from work or check who knocked while you were upstairs.
How It Works
Your doorbell records at home, not in a paid cloud.
Front Door
● Online · person detection on
Detection zones cover your doorstep, not the street.
Person and package detection run on the doorbell, so passing cars don’t send alerts.
Live view and two-way talk on your phone, with recordings saved at home.

- Doorbell: a wired or battery video doorbell with person and package detection, two-way audio and night vision.
- Storage: recordings saved on the doorbell’s own memory card or a home recorder — no paid cloud plan needed to watch them.
- Chime: connects to your existing indoor chime in most homes; a plug-in chime is available where it doesn’t.
- Connection: your home Wi-Fi, or a network cable where the doorbell supports it. We check signal strength at the door during setup.
- Integration: rings and visitors can trigger Home Assistant automations, such as porch lights on or the live view on your TV.
- App: today, live view and alerts use the doorbell’s own app or Home Assistant. The IoTiq app is in early access and is not required.

Know What You’re Getting
Clear about what it does — and what it doesn’t.
Your exact configuration, in writing
Before you order, your quote lists every device, its quantity, where it goes and which features it supports.
Manufacturer-backed hardware
Every device carries its manufacturer’s warranty. We tell you the warranty length for each one in your quote.
A doorbell, not a security service
It shows and records who comes to the door. It doesn’t contact police or a monitoring centre — pair it with an alarm system if you need that.

Four questions to think about before you order
Not sure? That’s fine — we check them with you during the free assessment.
Do you have an existing doorbell? If it’s wired, the new one can use the same wiring and chime.
How strong is Wi-Fi at the front door?Check your phone’s signal on the doorstep — we can add an extender.
Do you live in a condo or apartment?Battery doorbells mount without touching building wiring; some buildings need approval.
What faces the door?A busy street or a neighbour’s door decides how we set detection zones.
Privacy & data handling
Recordings are saved on the doorbell or a recorder in your home, not uploaded to an IoTiq server. Live view away from home uses the doorbell maker’s connection service. We set detection zones to your own doorstep, and recommend not pointing the camera at a neighbour’s door or windows. Before setup we confirm in writing which features rely on the manufacturer’s cloud. How IoTiq handles data →
FAQ
Questions about video doorbells.
Do I need existing doorbell wiring?+−
No. We supply wired and battery models and confirm which suits your entrance before ordering.
Is there a monthly fee?+−
No. Recordings are stored locally and can be viewed without a subscription.
Will it work in a Canadian winter?+−
We only supply models with an explicit sub-zero operating rating. Battery models charge more slowly in deep cold, so we size the battery or recommend wired power.
Can I use it in a condo?+−
Yes. Battery models mount without drilling into building wiring; we flag anything that needs building approval.
Can my family see it too?+−
Yes. You can share access with household members, each on their own phone.
Can it open the door for visitors?+−
Yes, when paired with a smart lock. See the doorbell and smart lock option in the pricing table.
